Racing was abandoned at 1430 local time on the final scheduled day as the required breeze would not hold following one light wind race sailed in the morning. Seven races were sailed in the series.
Competitors experienced nearly every condition of racing throughout the series, including some weather that even locals had never seen before. (Fog you couldn't see through and near mid-winter conditions!!!)
All seven races were close and competitive with the lead changing hands at finish of racing each day.
The eventual winners of the 2004 Fireball World Titles were Andy SMITH and James MELDRUM from Great Britain.
Andy and James, sailing "Gul", had results of a seventh, two firsts, a disqualification, a fifth an 11 and a fourth. It was enough to take the lead by 10 points but shows the closeness and competitiveness of the fleet.

Thanks to all who competed, supported, officiated, and generally hung around adding to the spectacular event that was the Fireball World's in "Sensational" Adelaide.
