Yngling World Championship

Day one of the Yngling World Championship kicked off in ideal sailing conditions on Sydney Harbour today.
In a building sea breeze up to 20 knots, the fourth and final Olympic Nomination Regatta for Yngling selection began.

The YZ Racing Team, Nicky BETHWAITE (AUS), Kristen KOSMALA and Karen GOJNICH, sailed consistently taking a 5th, and two 2nd places on the first day of racing.

Applying pressure to the top contenders throughout racing, Melanie DENNISON (AUS), Caroline ADERS and Fiona HERBERT are off to a good start with a 4th, 3rd and 8th in the three races of the day.

Yachting Australia Yngling coach, Dayne Sharp was very pleased with day one racing, "the sailing conditions were ideal and the girls are all off to a good start".

Neville WITTEY (AUS) and crew came out on top today, with a 1st, 4th, and 1st.

At the time of writing several protests were being heard, therefore overall results from day one will not be available until this evening.
