The Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) today validated the list of criteria that will be used to evaluate the sports programme of the Olympic Games.
The list was submitted to the Executive Board by the Olympic Programme Commission, which, since the 114th IOC Session in Mexico, has worked on developing criteria for evaluating sports and defining a procedure for the systematic revision of the programme.
These evaluation criteria have been adopted with the aim of gathering data, through the responses to a questionnaire which will be sent to the International Federations. This information will be used to assess each sport and discipline on the programme of the Summer and Winter Games, as well as the sports governed by Recognised Federations and whose inclusion in the programme could be foreseen.
The list will be made available to the media as soon as it has been received by the various stakeholders.
