Perfect Day One Conditions
J/22 World Championship
Annapolis, Maryland
Yesterday competitors were welcomed to Annapolis by 8-12 knots of breeze from 190-200 deg. with a strong upwind flowing current. Six races were run amongst two fleets in the round robin format.
Former Finn veteran and J-105 sailer Alec CUTLER leads the fleet of 130 teams followed closely by Dave Van CLEEF of VC Performance Rigging Fame.
Three more sets of races are scheduled for Wednesday with a less than stellar forecast. None the less, competitors were treated to the music of Papa Fresh in the "All-American Night" sponsored by Bacardi, Harken, McLube and North Sails. Everyone had a great time and dodged the rain bullet as thunderstorms raged in the distance.
