The huge, 130-boat J/22 World Championship was won over the weekend by local sailors Alec CUTLER, Max SKELLY and Paul MURPHY (USA), but it was a close battle with John Van ENGELSMAN (NED).
Racing varied in conditions that ranged from 4-14 knots across the six race regatta and Cutler eventually won, without winning a race, by finishing eighth in the final race as 2003 champion Van Engelsman failed to finish.
In the Silver Fleet, Nick CROMWELL defeated Will CRUMP to take the 65 boat silver fleet.
With 130 teams split between Gold and Silver fleets, this marks the largest gathering of J/22s ever. An army of over 100 volunteers worked diligently all week to provide some of the smoothest registration, measurement, and race management.
