Finn Sailors Chosen

US SAILING has selected the five Finn sailors to represent the country on the 2005 US SAILING team after the final qualifying event last weekend.

Last weekend's Alamitos Bay Yacht Club Olympic Classes Regatta, which incorporated the Finn North American Championship, was the last qualifying regatta for Finn sailors for the US SAILING Team.

The other qualifying events were the ISAF Grade 1 Rolex Miami OCR and the Midwinters LYC with sailors' finish in the Rolex Miami OCR combined with their best finish of the other two events.

The new members of the 2005 US SAILING Team in the Finn class include two sailors ranked in the top-fifty of the ISAF World Sailing Rankings: Kevin HALL (number 22), who won in Alamitos and Bryan BOYD (number 46). Paige RAILEY's brother, Zach RAILEY(number 105) also joins the team. He would have won in Alamitos had he not capsized in the final race and is tipped by HALL to be a star of the future. Darrell PECK (number 55) and Andrew CASEY make up the team.

All of the US SAILING Teams have now been selected with the exception of the Star, whose team will be finalized after the Star Western Hemisphere Championship on 5-9 April.
