Organisers of the XXXIV Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship have launched the official website, which includes the draft Notice of Race for the event being held in Gdynia, Poland from 8-17 July 2004.
Gdynia is one of the youngest and most developed polish cities. Together with Gdansk and Sopot, Gdynia forms part of the Triplecity and is one of the fastest changing places in Poland.
The event website, www.worldyouthsailingpoland.com includes the draft notice of race, as well as important information on Gdynia and the surrounding area, and the event schedule and prize list, all leading up to what will be the pinnacle events in the international youth Calendar for 2004.
As well as the monohull and windsurfing classes, Laser Radial, Laser, 420 and Mistral, 2004 sees the multihull event on the medal programme for the first time. Held as a demonstration event in 2001 and 2002, the Multihull Open, contested in the Hobie 16 with spinnaker, becomes a full discipline this year, bringing the total number of events to seven.
The Organising Committee will supply all equipment for events excluding the Mistral, and sponsors of the event include Hobie Cat, Nautivela and Laser.
All MNA's in good standing with ISAF are invited to send one entry per discipline to the Championship; athletes must be under 19 as of 31 December 2004. The disciplines for 2004 are:
