ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008
In addition to the revised Racing Rules of Sailing, ISAF issued the following supplement to the RRS in December 2004, which also comes into effect on 1 January 2005:
Rule 3 - Replace rule 3(c) with:
where the matter is not one to be determined under the rules, not to resort to any court of law or any tribunal until all internal remedies provided by the ISAF or by the Court of Arbitration for Sport have been exhausted.
ISAF Equipment Rules of Sailing 2005-2008
The Equipment Rules of Sailing consists of three parts - rules for use of the boat (the sport equipment used in sail racing) and personal equipment, equipment definitions and measurement rules.
The ERS are revised and published every four years by ISAF, and are adopted by ISAF as a code governing the use of equipment while racing. More information about the Applicability of the ERS can be found on ERS page 4.
Prohibited Medications 2005
Some changes have been made to the 2004 list. For example, the topical application of glucocorticosteroids will no longer require an abbreviated therapeutic use exemption.
Beta-2 agonists, often used in the treatment of asthma, will now be prohibited both in and out of competition. Due to the findings of a WADA-sponsored research project, Finasteride, a product used for prostate problems in men and also for hair loss, will be added to the Prohibited List as a masking agent. Finally, intravenous infusion for non-medical purposes will now be explicitly banned.
The 2005 Prohibited Medications come into effect immediately on 1 January 2005 across all sports.
