The 2004 event was a massive success, 165 boats across the three classes sailed in medium and strong conditions, beautiful sunshine and soaring mid-winter temperatures. With seven nations represented, the biggest fleet was the 107-boat 420 fleet. Ever popular, racing was tight and competitive across the nine race series but it was eventually Great Britain's 470 representitive in Barcelona 1992 Paul BROTHERTON, sailing with Graham SCOTT who took the regatta. With a 30-point scoreline the British pair lead Swiss sailors Yannick BRAUCHT and Simon KOSTER by four points at the end of the series, which saw Braucht and Koster claw back to within three points by the last race. Third place went to Gianmarco and Filippo TOGNI (ITA).
The 470 fleet, with 32 entries was dominated by Italian sailors Enrico FONDA and Pietro ZUCCHETTI who won the regatta with an eight point margin ove Austrians, Matthias SCHMIDT and Florian REICHSTAEDTER. Fonda and Zucchetti's scoreline was impressive as in the moderate to fresh breeze they didn't score a counting result outside the top two. Worthy winners of a solid fleet. 24 Equipes were competing in Italy and the class was won by Chiara MAGLIOCCHETTI and Lucrezia SUGLIANO.
The Organizing Committee would like to extend many thanks to all those who took part from France, Switzerland, Croatia, Austria, Great Britain, Germany and, obviously, Italy.
