IFDS is pleased to announce the YES-Europe Conference (Young Enabled Sailors), which aims to assist existing IFDS member countries, as well as those new to sailing for people with disabilities, to develop their own national disabled sailing programmes.
It will offer a menu of topics, from which country delegates can select a programme to best suit their needs. Please perouse the program by following the link below
Central themes of the conference will be the sharing of information about enabling young people, both able and disabled to share Sailing and to demonstrate both the formal and informal educational benefits of our sport.
The YES-Europe Conference will be conducted in English but the content will be highly visual and the workshops very practical and self-explanatory. It is however hoped that the participating countries will send two delegates, of whom at least one will have a good command of English.
IFDS Annual General Meeting
As many of you will know, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) will not permit any Sports Federations to hold their Annual General Meetings in Athens during the Paralympic Games. However with so many developments and changes due to be implemented after the Paralympics, the IFDS Executive now proposes to attach the 2004 AGM to the YES-Europe Conference described above. Therefore, representatives of IFDS Recognized National Authorities attending the AGM are also invited to participate in the conference.
A more comprehensive information pack and application form will be circulated shortly but if you require any further information now, please do not hesitate to contact Pauline HARRISON.
