Third Race Postponed

Star World Championship and Olympic Qualification Regatta

The third race of the AUDI Star Class World Championship 2004 was not sailed yesterday as planned due to the decision of the International Jury.

There were a number of protests put forward regarding the decision of the Jury to disallow several crews who were over weight from participating in the race on day two.

After hearing these protests and after due consideration, the decision of the Jury was to validate the previous day's race, which will be scored as Race 2, and to cancel the third race yesterday, Tuesday 27 April. Thus, Tuesday as opposed to Wednesday will be used as a lay day and the third race will be sailed today, Wednesday, which was originally planned as a lay day.

The Race Day Sponsor, Confcommercio di Gaeta, has graciously agreed to accept this change of day and their trophy will be presented to the first place finisher in today's race.
