Yachting NSW has announced the appointment of Kristen KOSMALA as their new Coaching and Programs Manager.
The restructured position will play a key role in increasing NSW coaching accreditation standards and identifying and servicing talented youth athletes in the sport.

Kosmala, a member of the Australian crew at the Olympic Sailing Competition in Athens, brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding to the role which will assist in the identification of talented athletes and coordinate programmes and events to support their development.

Already familiar with NSW's youth sailing programs, Kosmala has been a participant and coach in many of the programs she will now coordinate.

'I'm really looking forward to being involved with sailing at this level again and am very excited by the many opportunities the role presents,' says Kosmala.

Prior to her Olympic campaign, she worked as a corporate trainer and as the Training and Coach Education Coordinator at Yachting Australia. Her focus will now be on increasing the coaching accreditation level in the sport.

Yachting NSW General Manager Andrew HAMILTON is enthusiastic about the appointment believing NSW youth sailors will benefit working with 'such a high profile athlete whom they can aspire to.'
