Trofeo La Reina

The VI Trofeo S.M La Reina has finished today with "Telefónica MoviStar", with Pedro CAMPOS at the helm, and "Zurich", with Jordi CALAFAT as skipper, as fair winners on the VI Trofeo S.M La Reina.
After five races, "Telefónica MoviStar" - who won the Giraglia Rolex Cup, last week- , has won 3 of 5 races and has positioned itself as firm champion with 7 points, 16 points less than the second boat: the new Farr 54 "CAM" skippered by HRH Felipe de Borbón.

In IMS 600 "Zurich", has led the most of the races, with 3 first places too and 7 points. In second place, with seven points more than the first, the boat skipper by Vasco VASCOTTO -"Telefónica MoviStar"- has show her power after 5 closed races with an incredible flight among the four Gran Soleil 42 R.

The Race Committee had programmed one race for the day at 12.00. Due to the lack of wind the race was postponed 10 minutes. With 8 knots from the Southeast, the Race Committee signalled the start for IMS500 first and IMS600 later.

In IMS 500, after a great start and a windward leg, the weather mark was led by "CAM" and "Bribon"- 5 seconds behind- , followed by the twins "Honda X-Prozac" and "Caixa Galicia". The smallest boats of the fleet taking the lead on the corrected time with the JV 56 ft. "Telefónica MoviStar" first, the JV 48ft. "Cristabella" second and the GS42 "Balearia" third.

In IMS 600, "Forum Filatélico",- who led the fleet star to the first weather mark- "Near Miss", "Zurich", "Telefónica MoviStar" and "Memo Memulini" were fighting in a close and fast group, as a leader of IMS 600. The swiss, kept the first place in the race, followed by "Zurich" and "Telefónica Movistar".
