Karen Leibovici Finishes In Thirteenth

It was at 20 hours 04 minutes and 20 seconds GMT this Sunday 13 March 2005 that the 60 foot monohull Benefic skippered by Karen LEIBOVICI (FRA) crossed the finish line of the Vendée Globe 2004, a single-handed race, without stopovers and without assistance departing and finishing in Les Sables d'Olonne, France.
The race time to make the 23,680 miles was 126 days 08 hours 02minutes and 20 seconds at an average theoretical speed across the course of 7.81 knots. Karen becomes the fourth woman in history to have officially completed the Vendée Globe after Catherine CHABAUD (FRA), Ellen MACARTHUR (GBR) and Anne LIARDET (FRA)
