The ISAF Grade 2 St Moritz Match Race will take place from 15 - 20 July 2004 and twelve teams will compete for the title and 75,000CHF prize money. This weekend, the Swiss qualification series was completed to confirm the final skipper.
Eric MONNIN and Walser both went into the final day with four wins and no losses and their match was therefore decisive for who will make the last spot to race next weekend.
Team Walser, despite having the advantage of sailing into the starting area on starboard, was controlled by Monnin through out the whole race. By winning the final match and therefore the qualification series, Eric MONNIN and his crew of brothers JC and Marc can now race against the world elite next weekend.
Walser, who only lost one match finished second (four wins and one loss), Stöckli who won his matches against Leimgruber and Kaiser finished third (3 wins and 2 losses). De Micheli was fourth with 2 wins and three losses with Leimgruber in fifth with one win and four losses and in sixth place was Kaiser with no wins and five losses.
