Bacardi Cup Regatta 2005
Biscayne Bay, USA

The six-day Star Class regatta sets sail on the 10.5 mile course on Biscayne Bay, Florida on 6 March.
The Bacardi Cup, now in its 78th year, was first sailed in 1927 and is the only Cuban-born sporting event that is still held in the United States. More than 100 international sailing teams from 22 countries, including world-champions and Olympic medallists, will descend upon South Florida in their quest for the 2005 Trofeo Bacardi.

Among the early registrants are three former Bacardi Cup champions, seven-time winner and multiple Olympic champion Mark REYNOLDS (USA), Peter BROMBY (BER) and defending champion Afonso DOMINGOS (POR).

Racing will take place from 6-11 March with competition starting daily at noon, except for an early 11am start on the final day.

Coral Reef Yacht Club (CRYC), located between Coconut Grove and Key Biscayne, is hosting the event and further information can be found on the event website and the Star Class website via the links below.
