Goals:
|
- Securing and strengthening sailing as an Olympic Sport.
Every Olympic sport is reviewed every 4 years. Sailing has a lot of challenges for IOC. We need to follow a strategic plan. It's not about the format. It's how you present the sport.
- Improving and adding transparency to ISAF's decision-making process.
The 8 years that I'm officially within ISAF it worries me that decisions take a very long time. Also knowledgable people do not have the influence they should have.
- Limiting the costs of involvement at all levels to ensure more people can participate.
If we keep on adding different boats, different classes and formats, how can a new country develop to perform?
- Develop youth sailing
ISAF has been striving for a clear pathway to follow for youth. I do see progress and I intend to keep it going for the coming years. Without youth there's no future in sailing.
