Three venues offer direct access to the waters of Weymouth and Portland where the 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition will take place. In addition there are a further 18 venues spread across Great Britain where sailing teams can book a Pre-Games Training Camp and an additional 13 facilities to host Paralympic sailing teams.

Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy

The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA) will be the host venue for the 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition. Following discussions with ISAF, the WPNSA will be enabling international teams to train at the venue throughout the period leading up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Priority will be given to teams booking for the three-year package as well as a discount. Availability will be on a first come first served basis and there will be a limit to the number of teams that can be accommodated. The packages will include dinghy boat parking and launching, container storage, rib launching / mooring / storage and cranage for keel boats as well as full access to car parking, changing rooms and canteen. During some of the high profile events there may be some restrictions on international team access, but these will be kept to a minimum, access details can be obtained from the Academy.

International teams will be able to make necessary training arrangements at the WPNSA through their ISAF Member National Authority (find out contact details for your MNA at www.sailing.org/mna) as well as other organizations recognized by ISAF. Packages tailored to the size of the team are available on an annual or three year basis.

Training Camps Financial Award

London 2012 is offering a Financial Award of up to £25,000 to cover the costs incurred by National Olympic Committees and National Paralympic Committees attending Pre-Games Training Camps.

The award is designed to cover costs cover the cost of venue hire, accommodation and support services for Pre-Games Training Camps that are held in Great Britain from 1 July 2011 through to Games-time in 2012.
