"I'm rooming with a swimmer from the Bahamas and some track people. It's good to see other people from the Bahamas succeeding in their sport and seeing who I'll maybe go to the Olympics with one day."

What's China Like Compared To Back Home?
"It's pretty good with all the big buildings and a big dining hall [in the Athletes Village]. Nothing like that in the Cook Islands. We're used to beaches and not big buildings. It's my first time in this kind of atmosphere."

"Meeting people from different sports. With sailing you only get to meet sailors and just to be able to meet people from other sports is something we don't typically get to do."

What's China Like Compared to New Zealand?
"It's completely different. All the high res buildings and it's building after building after building. It's crazy. After I left Shanghai when we drove five hours and there were so many apartment buildings."

What's It Like To Live In The Athletes Village?
"It's very cool and I enjoy it. It's like an apartment. We've got a little lounge area and a table and some chairs. It's got four rooms and two bathrooms. It's a really cool event and it's been run to an exceptional standard."

What Sort Of Event Can We Expect?
"The fleet will get shaken up a bit and it will be interesting to see who has a great regatta and I'm sure people will come out and really give it their all for this event. I'm sure we'll see some surprise in the results."
