| This is the starting point for new sailors to the system. Click on "New Sailor Registration" in the menu on the left of the screen (this option will not appear if you are already logged onto the system).
Prior to granting an ISAF Sailors' Classification, some personal details of each sailor are required. Most of these are to allow the ISAF to contact the sailor in the event of a Review where additional information may be required.
Mandatory fields are indicated by the * next to the field.
When entering phone numbers, please include the full country code such as +61 3 9521 9999.
Date of birth and Gender are requested to allow potential matching of historical records already in the ISAF systems. e.g. matching against the current ISAF World Rankings or Match Racing Rankings.
This information is only available to ISAF staff and the Chairman of the Review Panel. Other sailors can query the database to determine the current Classification of any other sailor, but cannot obtain any personal information, nor information about Applications or Appeals.
After entering personal information, the system then requests information about your employment and sailing background.
If you have just completed the “New Sailor Registration” screen, you will note your assigned user ID in the yellow highlighted section at the top of this new screen. When you enter the Sailors Classification system in the future, you should use this ID plus your password (previously nominated by you on the Request New Classification screen).
You must answer all of the questions, which help to determine your classification as a Group 1, 2, or 3 competitor. If you feel you need to explain one of your answers, click on "Enter more details" to the right of the question, and you will be given the opportunity to provide additional information about your answer.
If you answer "Yes" to any question, then the system will automatically prompt you to "Enter more details" for this question. If your Application is subsequently referred to the Review Panel, this information will assist the Panel members in determining your Classification.
You must also complete the Declaration form as part of the Application process. When you click on the "Submit" button, you will receive a message on the status of your application.
If the answers you have provided to these questions indicate that your classification is different to that which you have requested, your Application is automatically referred to the Review Panel for consideration.
The Review Panel may request additional information, or may rule based on the information that you have already provided in your application.
