The first day started with a totally calm and sunny morning, and finished in thunderstorms and heavy rain, the Women's Match Race Golfe du Morbihan in Vannes, France, put the sailors to the test on the first day of racing.
An earlier start allowed the Gold fleet to get a full four races on the penultimate day of the International Moth World Championships at Hayling Island, with the Silver fleet once again getting in three.
For the first time in the championship blue skies welcomed sailors to the venue with no sign of sea fog. Fortunately the gradient wind remained from the north east and the first starting signal was as scheduled.
The Moth Worlds fleet woke up to a glorious day at Hayling Island. The wind was blowing a steady 15 knots, the sun was shining and it was 23 degrees by 10:00 - perfect sailing conditions. The Gold fleet went out into Hayling Bay, while the Silver fleet headed off East to Bracklesham Bay.
