Membership in the Federation may be granted by the Council in the various classes of Membership as follows:
- Full Member (Member National Authority)
- Associate Member (Member National Authority with reduced service and powers)
- ISAF Class Association Member (International, Recognized and Classic Yacht Classes)
- ISAF Continental Member (membership offered to geographical groups)
- Affiliate Member (self-administered international organisation)
