Sailing Career

Involvement in the Organization of Many International Regattas

- In 1989, I was involved in the planning and preparation of the marina for the 1990 Beijing Asian Games;

- I was part of the team in China's bid for the 2000 and 2008 Olympic Games;

- As a representative of CYA, I was directly involved in the preparation of the Olympic marina and the organization;

- I have spent much effort to hold ISAF World Cup Qingdao in China, which it the only one of all the sub-stations where prizes are provided to the winners. Chinese organizing committee has actively created favourable conditions for those excellent players around the world.

Being an International Jury in Many International Sailing Regattas over the past 20 years since my accreditation in 1988

- improved my professionalism and personal capacity;

- established good relationships with other international organizations and friends in the sailing world.

Construction of Sailing Infrastructure in China's Coastal Cities

- Since the successful host of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, China has built 26 advanced sailing centers; dozens of medium and small sized sailing clubs and training bases along China's coast, which serve as a platform for foreign exchange and training and competitive activities.

Support Social Sectors to Participate in Sailing

- I have devoted much time to developing regattas for non-professional sailors, Such as China Cup International Regatta which have greatly promoted the communication among Asia-Pacific sailing communities and provided opportunities for amateurs.

Support the growth of youth sailing in new nations

- We have carried out the Optimist Asian and Sailing Developing Nations Support Plan and decided to provide free OP sailing boats to Asian Countries each year in the future.

- We have organized various OP sailing summer camps and provided the best equipment and much comfortable accommodation for young players and other participants. Such as Qingdao International Optimist Training Camp & Regatta, where young players and youth teams have a good chance to communicated with each other.
