VIP IMS World Championship
Cres

There was no racing on the first day of VIP IMS 600 World Championship. A calm sea in front of Cres was an unbearable obstacle for everybody yesterday.
There was some sporadic breeze and the race committee even went as far as to set a course area. The Northerly breeze was not to cooperate however and it never picked up above four knots, resulting in the abandonement of the day’s racing.

”It was one of those days,” said member of Racing Committee Tonko PETESIC. ”We went out with easterly wind. We initiated starting procedure with north wind and that as far we went today. This north wind was our only hope. It rained last night, did not caused “bura”, as a result – calm sea. I believe it will be better tomorrow for the 120 NM offshore race. Forecast is for south wind.” optimistically concludes Petesic.

There were 19 crews from 5 countries ready for a start yesterday. Crews eagerly anticipated wind, carefully examining the wind indicators.

Today the offshore race is scheduled. Full details and race results when they happen will be on the event website at the address below.
