The seminar was hosted by the Federation Royale Belge du Yachting. Luis Ormaechea (ESP) and Helmut Jakobowitz (AUT) were the ISAF instructors.

The seminar was held at Bloso SportsHotel  in Ghent where the conference room and standard of facilities were excellent. Accommodation was offered at the same hotel. Rooms were clean and very comfortable.

20 delegates attended the seminar from 7 countries; 5 from Spain, 1 from Great Britain, 1 from Nederland, 5 from Belgium, 3 from Libya ,3 from Greece and 2 from China. This mix of nationalities resulted in some very interesting discussions and exchanges of very different concepts about race management which contributed greatly to the success of the seminar.

The attendees were very enthusiastic, and several among them had good experience of race management at major regattas. All important topics relating to race management were discussed in an open and informative way.

On completion of the seminar, 19 candidates took the written test with 15 of them achieving the required level for IRO.
A especial mention for the coordinator Bruno De Wannemaker who did a fantastic job organizing the seminar, and looking after our needs.
