World Number One Takes Early Lead

Toscana Elba Cup
Elba

Polish skipper Karol JABLONSKI (POL), currently ranked number one on the ISAF World Match Race Rankings, sailing for Toscana Challenge Sailing Team, took two victories on the first day of the ISAF Grade 1 event in Italy.
The third edition of the Toscana Elba Cup - Trofeo Locman started yesterday afternoon with eliminations. There are 66 matches to determine the eight teams in the quarterfinals scheduled to take place Saturday 8 May.

Karol JABLONSKI leads the provisional rankings for the first day's Round Robin with two wins. Paolo CIAN made a strong showing in one of the two matches today prevailed over Swede Magnus HOLMBERG, winner of last year's Toscana Elba Cup - Trofeo Locman.

Teams took to the waters under a cloudy sky with frequent showers and winds of around 20 knots. The inclement weather didn't, however, keep the public from following the regatta from Porto Azzurro.
