Geronimo’s Jules Verne Trophy Time Ratified By The WSSRC

Jules Verne Trophy

Yesterday, Olivier De KERSAUSON (FRA) and his hard working crew on the Giant Trimaran Geronimo, had their round-the-world time of 63 days 13 hours 59 minutes and 46 seconds ratified by the World Sailing Speed Record Council.
This confirms that they have beaten the previous Jules Verne time of over 64 days set by Bruno PEYRON in 2002 and are the new holders of the Jules Verne Trophy.

The current WSSRC Round-the-world record is held by Steve FOSSET and his crew aboard the Giant catamaran Cheyenne. The ratified time of this record is just over 58 days.
