Multi-Skilled Boat Builder/Coach Sought

Cook Islands

Fancy working in the Cook Islands? The ISAF Member National Authority, Sailing Cook Islands, seeks a multi-skilled volunteer.
A person is sought for a contracted position of between 20 to 25 weeks.

Sailing Cook Islands (SCI) is seeking a person who has dinghy boat building skills, a set of tools with a working knowledge of maintaining wooden Optimist sailing boats and an experienced sailor across small boat classes, a coach interested in working at both learn to sail level and with our elite developing sailors. Being a volunteer position SCI would pay an accommodation allowance and or billet with a living allowance of NZ$200 per week while on contract. Airfares to and from NZ/Australia and internally within the Cook Islands plus a NZ $25 per week tool allowance.

The contract can commence immediately and would start with the construction of 20 Optimist kit sets in Rarotonga, then taking them to the Outer Islands of Manihiki and Mangaia to complete the building program with the assistance of Outer Island Club members.

In travelling to the Outer Islands conditions are basic and clubs are in need of learn to sail classes, coaching development and race management. SCI would prefer a single person who has the above skill and would like to work as a volunteer in a very pleasant part of the Pacific.
