Held at the Italian Yacht Club in Genoa, racing starts this weekend and goes on until next Thursday, with Friday being a reserve day for racing. Many of the Worlds best Star Sailors will be competing in an event which follows closely from their World Championship held in California last month.

Recently crowned World Champions Iain Percy and Steve Mitchell (GBR) will be hoping to build on their success at the World Champ[ionship to take home a European Medal and to move them further up the ISAF World Sailing Rankings. However, it will be far from easy. 1995 and 2000 World Champion and three time Olympic medallist Mark Reynolds (USA) will also be competing, as will 1996 World Champion Enrico Chieffi.

Italy is well represented with 27 crews competing including their National Champion Luca Modena.
