Orange is Getting Ready for the South
The frivolous St. Helena high pressure zone doesn’t seem as freaky as expected. The beast is sly and tough, but Orange’s 13 men know there way around. And should be ‘saved’ as Gilles Chiorri puts it, as early as Friday 15 March.
Aboard the watches keep on taking turns and each one slowly gets ready to tackle the south, finally.
“There are a few squalls but it’s not very violent. We zigzag in order to avoid them and spare the gear.” Says Phillipe Peche.
“We’re trying to pack as many calories as possible, in order to get mentally ready for the south, where things will be more difficult.” Comments Gilles Chiorri.
Orange covered 276 miles up until 08:00 on Thursday 14 March. After 13 days Orange is 900 miles ahead of Olivier de Kersauson's record.
