Day 22 Sees Illbruck Increasing Lead

Volvo Ocean Race
Southampton - Cape Town

The positions at the front of the fleet stayed virtually unchanged overnight with ASSA ABLOY, Amer Sports One and News Corp losing a few miles and only Tyco keeping the distance to illbruck, spearheading the fleet.
The real battle is happening in order to determine who is covering the back of the fleet. Sailing nose on nose with djuice for the last day, Amer Sports Too under her skipper Lisa McDonald managed just to slip through to the east of the pink dragon. Pushed so hard by their pride, both yachts managed to take back one mile from next competitor in front of them, the Swedish Team SEB.

Weather Situation
General - High continues slow moving south of the area. ESE trade winds over area.
Wind - ESE 15, increasing occasional 20 in south.
Seas - 2.0 Metres, though 2.5 Metres in south at first.
Weather - Mostly fair, but risk showers continue.
