Damien Seguin will carry the French flag during the London 2012 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony.
The French 2.4mR sailor has been one of the standout sailors in the class having won gold at Beijing 2008, silver at Athens 2004 and three World Championships.
Seguin said,
"It is an honour and a pride in having been chosen by the French Paralympic Committee and Sports to carry the colours of France in the Paralympics. Thanks to the staff but also for people who helped me get to that level, to be what I am today. It is also an award for my discipline because it is the first time a marine athlete has been assigned this responsibility."
Jean-Pierre Champion, President of FFV, added,
"Damien Seguin is a great competitor and a great champion. He has the desire to win and to be a great captain."
