IODA Provide Optimist Dinghies

The International Optimist Dinghy Assocation (IODA) has a scheme running to provide "free" dinghies to developing nations, to support the development of junior sailing in that country.
Under a "6 for 5" scheme launched earlier this year countries which have only a few Optimists and can buy five new boats may receive an extra boat FREE from the International Optimist Dinghy Association. If they can buy ten boats they get two free.

These Optimists may be supplied by any approved builder.

To date, two countries have received boats under the project, the Cook Islands and Barbados.
