Pound Reverses Earlier Resignation

Pound Will Remain Head Of World Anti Doping Agency

Dick Pound (CAN), who last month lost a bid for the IOC presidency, will remain head of World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) through the end of the Salt Lake City Olympics, reversing an earlier decision.
IOC president Jacques Rogge announced the move during Friday's meeting between the IOC Executive Board and the IAAF Council, which preceded the opening of the World Track and Field Championships.

Pound had submitted his resignation as the IOC's marketing chief and head of World Anti-Doping Agency after losing to Rogge in the July 16 vote for IOC president in Moscow. Rogge had since been trying to convince his former rival to change his mind.
