2.4 Metre World Championships completed

Heiko Krüger winner of the Gold Medal in the 2.4 Metre Class at the 2000 Paralympic Games wins the Open 2.4 Metre World Championship
In a light breeze on the last day of the championship, the Sydney 2000 Paralympic winner Heiko Krüger from Germany, won the World Championship with a 2nd place in the first race of the day. Thomas Tarp from Sweden won this race and Are Eklund from Norway was third.

In the final race Heiko Krüger just had to "cruise" in to a total victory in this World Championship.

Overall, the second and third places went to Sweden's Stellan Berlin and Peter Norlin respectively. Swedish sailors dominated with 7 sailors within the top 10.
