Iate Clube da Armação de Búzios (ICAB)

From the center of the city, one can reach the club walking 500 meters along the Bardot water front. ICAB is a private club whose primary objective is to support sailing activities. Situated on a small promontory between the Bardot water front and the Ossos beach the club enjoys a privileged position overlooking the racing area. ICAB was host to the 1988 IYRU Womens' World Sailing Championship and also to the 1991 World Europe Dinghy Class Championship. Several Star and Laser Classes South American and Brazilian National Championships have been held at ICAB. In 2004, the club hosted the Brasilian Laser national championship with 183 sailors. Since 1988, ICAB annually hosts a Buzios Sailing Week for ocean classes, gathering about 60 boats.
