ISAF Technical Courses For Coaches
Indonesia

ISAF is pleased to announce that the ISAF Member National Authority for Indonesia, the Indonesia Sailing Federation, has received confirmation that an Olympic Solidarity funded Level 3 Regional Technical Course for Coaches has been approved and can now take place from 24 June to 1 July 2012.
Following a successful pilot course in Algeria in March from which the IOC has seen the global benefits of this programme this course will be the second such course as part of the exciting Santander 2014 Sailing World Championships Emerging Countries Project (ECP). Each Nation that attends these regional courses will be able to benefit from future subsidies for attendance to the High Performance training facilities at the Santander 2014 Worlds venue in 2013 and 2014, ahead of the World Sailing Championships.

President Djoko Pramono of the The Indonesia Sailing Federation said of this successful application, "The Indonesia Sailing Federation is very grateful for support extended by IOC in the form of Technical Courses and scholarship for coaches. Future funding from IOC and ISAF coaching assistance will undoubtedly provide a much needed boost to the development of Sailing in Indonesia."

ISAF Training and Development Manager Dan Jaspers explained how important this news is for the Emerging Countries Project, "Since receiving the news regarding the S14 pilot course in March we have been working with a number of MNAs to host the follow up courses during 2012 and through the strong links that the Indonesia Sailing Federation has formed with its NOC we were able to work out a plan that would enable us to run a Regional Course for the benefit of not only Indonesia but many more Countries in the region. I strongly encourage all of our worldwide members that see this news and wish to know more about how they can do something similar to get in contact. I am very grateful for President Djoko Pramono and the NOC team in Indonesia and remain hopeful that we will achieve our target of hosting a further 5 such courses this year."
