ISAF is now accepting bids for Regional Finals and the Grand Final of the 2009 ISAF Nations Cup, one of ISAF’s premier events designed to promote match racing around the global and find the world’s top match racing nations. The bids should comply with the Bid Document and received by the ISAF Secretariat no later than 15 June 2007.

France has done the double at the ISAF Nations Cup 2006 at the Royal Cork Yacht Club in association with Failte Ireland, the Irish Sports Council, and Smart Telecom. Winning skippers Mathieu RICHARD and Claire LEROY defeated Ian AINSLIE (RSA) and Lotte MELDGAARD PEDERSEN (DEN) in closely matched finals yesterday.

A beautiful sunny Irish day with a twelve to 15 knot northerly was the stimulus for a great day’s racing at the Royal Cork Yacht Club in Ireland.

The ISAF Nations Cup Grand Final, sponsored by Fáilte Ireland, Smart Telecom and the Sports Council of Ireland, kicked off yesterday in Crosshaven, Ireland and neither of the defending nations have yet to drop a match. Ian AINSLIE (RSA) took five wins whilst Nicky SOUTER (AUS) cleaned up with four.
