Goals

  • I love the sport of sailing. My sons and I sail. Sailing is a core sport in my country and in Asia, sailing is growing at a rapid pace. I have the commitment, energy and PASSION to serve you and the sport of sailing, so please give me that opportunity.
  • ISAF today needs to REFRESH itself through a review of its overall structure so that it can be an effective international federation. ISAF must periodically ascertain MNA's expectations though feedback and surveys so that it can respond to changing needs and develop high standards of delivery.
  • The development of an ISAF ECO-SYSTEM to provide effective inter-linkages across the organization and suitable relationships between MNA's, Executives, Council, Committees, Commissions and Management is vital to sustain the process for consensual decision-making.
  • The KNOWLEDGE OF SAILING must be planted and firmly entrenched at ISAF's Management. In so doing the Executives and Council can then focus on strategic issues and challenges that confront ISAF's long-term future.
  • ISAF must become less reliant on the IOC funding and diversify its INCOME sources through creative ways of marketing its events and intellectual properties.
  • ISAF must be BUSINESS-LIKE AND PROFESSIONAL in thought and behaviour in the management of its sport. Strict adherence by all to best practices in corporate governance and financial stewardship leading to transparency and accountability are expected by all stakeholders and the IOC. This will translate into a favourable reputation for ISAF, which can only be good for sailing and the sporting world.
