Goals
I have a unique perspective. I have served as the President of my MNA (Canadian Yachting Association), am currently a board member of the Canadian Olympic Committee, am a former National Team athlete, was the Executive Secretary of the International Laser Class in NA, and have been the commentator on the CBC TV network for 3 Olympics.
As Chair of the ISAF Youth World Championship Subcommittee for 8 years, I've led its' successful transformation into a world-class event. Through disciplined planning and execution, we've delivered VOLVO, our title sponsor, a solid ROI in terms of brand equity and media exposure.
Professionally, I've worked for 20 years in marketing and media, including the past 5 years developing 'smart media' networks. I view ISAF as being at the edge of a world dominated by fast evolving mass media. We need to reshape our strategies to allow us to optimize new media to promote our sport.
As an organization, we need key marketing and strategic competencies at the executive level in order to move the organization forward.
As a Vice President, my goals would be to:
- Ensure the security of Sailing in the Olympics.
- Engage youth in new and existing markets and take action to make sailing more exciting and appealing.
- Build the ISAF brand by enhancing our titled event program in conjunction with partnering with media, sponsors, and the industry.
I bring to the Executive needed perspectives and competencies, passion and determination, and a proven ability to deliver results.
