• Started sailing when 14 years old (1983) in 470 Class
• Competed at national and international (also as member of the Italian Sailing Team) level in 470 Class for more than 12 years
• Inter-regional (north Italian) champion in 470 Class, peak position in the Italian 470 Class ranking list: 1°
• Participated in the Italian trial for the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games in 470 Class
• Participated in the Italian sport boats circuit
• Participated in classic Italian regattas (Gorla, Centomiglia, ect.), winner of the Centomiglia 2007 (Sport boat Class: UFO 22)

• Promoter of the project "Vela Speciale" aiming at bringing young people with disability on a boat duly equipped for such purpose, launched by Fondazione Mariani (http://www.fondazione-mariani.org/), an Italian non profit Foundation dedicated to the child neurology, of which I am member of the board of director.

Goals

ISAF enters the second century of its existence, the need for renewal is apparent. The ISAF Strategic Plan was the first response to such need and provides for both innovation and consolidation. Therefore, I consider its implementation a priority. In general, if elected to the new Executive Committee, I would focus on:

• Improving the efficiency of ISAF, with a strategic view on the whole structure, allocation of duties and flow of activities in order for ISAF to build on its achievements;
• Innovate ISAF marketing policies and promotion of ISAF as an attractive partner for sponsors, commercial entities, media players, as well as MNAs, athletes and coaches, in order for ISAF to be less dependent on the IOC funds;
• Going "professional", as much as possible, on each and every matter it faces in order for ISAF to improve the quality of its deliveries to its constituents.
