The Youth Olympic Games aim to bring together talented young athletes from around the world. The first Summer Youth Olympic Games will gather approximately 3,200 athletes and 800 officials and feature 100 sailors, aged 15-16 years, in four sailing events: one person dinghy men; one person dinghy women; windsurfing men; and windsurfing women.

National Sailing Centre

Sitting on 2.4 hectares of land, the National Sailing Centre (NSC) was officially launched on 26 June 1999 by the former Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Goh Chok Tong.

It is located at the south eastern tip of the island. The centre is dedicated towards sailing excellence.

The strategic location of the NSC enables sailors to make full use of the South-Westand North east Monsoons for year round sailing, and has been the choice for regional and international competitions.

The facilities include a large berthing area for boats, a two-storey administration block, a multipurpose sports hall, canteen, dormitory and an auditorium.
