The Beppe Croce Trophy, presented to the IYRU by Federazione Italiana de Vela in memory of Beppe Croce, President of the IYRU from 1969 to 1986 is dedicated: “In memory of a lifetime’s dedication to yachting”.

This prestigious award is for an individual who has made a voluntary outstanding contribution to the sport of yachting. In reviewing the nominations for the 1989 presentation, the Executive Committee considered it inappropriate, under the circumstance, to select one recipient only when faced with two such outstanding and equal candidates, whose paths of voluntary contribution have run parallel for so long.

The presentation which will take place at approximately 12.45 pm on Friday, 3rd November 1989 during the Permanent Committee Meeting, at the Café Royal, London will be made by Peter Tallberg, President of the IYRU.
