World Record Attempt

Francis JOYON and his 100-foot IDEC trimaran will go on standby next week, waiting for a weather window to launch his assault on the solo round the world record.
Francis JOYON (FRA) is aiming to beat the record of 71 days, 14 hours and 18 minutes, set by Ellen MACARTHUR (GBR) in February 2005. JOYON previously held the record at 72 days, 22 hours and 54 minutes.

Aiding JOYON in his quest will be famous router Jean-Yves BERNOT, as known as ‘the wizard’. He will help guide JOYON and IDEC through 26,000 miles of isolation, around the three great Capes and across three oceans.
