Argentina's Olympic Laser Radial hopeful Cecilia Carranza Saroli won the Central South American Laser Radial Championship after a consistent week of racing in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
On the last day, the competitors completed two races, the ninth and tenth of this competition.
The gold fleet started racing at 11:15 local time with the silver fleet starting ten minutes later.
During the second race, the wind decreased and the Race Committee had to cancel the races of the two fleets. Finally, at 14:15 the wind increased to 10 knots and established in the SW. At this time, the RC started the last races (14:37 gold fleet and 14:46 silver fleet).
Juan Ignacio Biava (ARG) won the final race followed by Adriana Kostiw (BRA), but the stand out performer was Saroli who had finished in the top two in six of ten races on her way to 16 points with two discards.
Lucia Falasca (ARG) finished two points behind Saroli in second place followed by Tomas Dietrich (ARG) in third on 35 points.
Today sees the start of the Central South American Championship for the Laser Standard and Laser 4.7 Classes.
