ISAF Sailor

ISAF Sailor is a service offered by ISAF commencing 1 March 2002. It is aimed at sailors across the spectrum from top international sailors to local club sailors to anyone who is interested in sailing and wishes to receive information from the world governing body. The aim of ISAF Sailor is to provide an evolving range of online services to the benefit of the sport.

Once registered as an ISAF Sailor you will receive a unique and personal ISAF Sailor ID which will allow you to access the ISAF services, including registering for email information, such as the ISAF Newsletter - Making Waves, World Sailing Rankings and Class Newsletter, to completing your own online biography, as well as viewing all registered ISAF Sailors' classifications and biographies.

If you have previously applied and received an ISAF Sailor Classification, you will already have an ISAF User ID and password and can use that to logon to ISAF Sailor.

Please note that you need to register to ISAF Sailor to view the ISAF Services. Once registered the left-hand menu will change and give you full access.

Sailor Classification

For those sailors entering events which require an ISAF Sailor Classification, ISAF provides a free online system. The ISAF Sailor Classification is the one international system of classification used around the world. To apply for a Classification you must first register with the ISAF Sailor, click 'New Sailor Registration' on the left hand menu, once registered the left hand menu will have a link to the 'Sailors' Classification' under the ISAF Sailor Services where you can update your details, apply for a new Classification or print your current certificate. If your Sailor Classification has expired please log back into the system using your original ISAF User ID and click on 'Sailors Classification' to get to the Classification Area. Then click on 'Request New Classification'.

Newsletter Subscriptions

Subscribe to the ISAF Official Newsletter, Making Waves, as well as your Class or National Authority newsletter (where available).

World Rankings

Direct email of the World Sailing and Match Race Rankings as issued from ISAF. You can choose between receiving an overview of the rankings, top 20 in each event, or just the top 200 in the Laser Rankings, or 470 Rankings, or top 200 in all the rankings.

Your Biography

Create a personal biography, which can include personal and general information, your images, your sponsor's logo and link to their website, your campaign website, and results. For ISAF Ranked Sailors, your biography will include your ranked results, although this link up between your biography and rankings will only take place once you have entered a graded event and included your ISAF Sailor ID at registration.

Media Office

Members of the media are invited to subscribe to the ISAF Media Office. At the present time this will allow you to register for ISAF Email Services as per the ISAF Sailor. However, in time it will be expanded to provide a one-stop to register for event information for forthcoming events, accredit online for events and allow access to the ISAF Image Library.

Sailors' Forums

The Sailors' Forum is the place to air your views, express what you think about sailing, what you would like to know more about, what you think ISAF should be doing for the sport. It is there for sailors, so use it as you wish. ISAF Committee Members and Officials will be monitoring the Forum, so pose a question. Hear a response from the top.

Search for a Sailor

Want to know more about some of the world's top international sailors, or your local sailing club rival. The ISAF Sailor Biography is the place to look. You can search for sailors by name, country or by their ISAF Sailor ID and view the biography information they have posted.

The ISAF Sailor will provide you with your own personal profile, which you will be able to update and amend at any time, and subscribe to new services.

When a new ISAF Service has been launched, ISAF will notify registered ISAF Sailors by email and you will be invited to register for the additional services.
