Performance Assessment Opportunities

List of Events Where Authorised ISAF Performance Assessors Will Be in Attendance Only those candidates who have attended an ISAF International Umping seminar may request a Performance Assessment in accordance with the Performance Assessment procedure. As a guideline: 1. If you are a member of the umpire team at an event where an assessor is present you may submit a request to the ISAF office for a performance assessment. 2. If you are not a member of the umpire team at an event where an assessor is present, you may submit a request for a peformance assessment to the ISAF office and it may be possible for the assessor to organise an opportunity for you to umpire at the event and conduct a performance assessment, but this is not always possible, especially at grade WC/ 1 and AC events.Contact the ISAF Office at www.sailing.org/contactraceofficials. Please do not contact Assessors directly. In order to assist eligible candidates, below is a table of events where Perfomance Assessors will be in attendance.
3. Candidates should be aware that performance assessments outside IU seminars are difficult for ISAF to arrange. The reason is that it is necessary to arrange for the candidate and a performance assessor to attend the same event, which is not always easy to accomplish. ISAF has the right to appoint the umpire team for certain events, but those events are only top level and not always well suited for performance assessments. At all other events, the organizer appoints the umpire team. Therefore, there is no regulation that requires ISAF to provide a performance assessment 'on demand'. The only thing ISAF can promise is:
a) if you are a member of the umpire team at an event where an assessor is present, this assessor can make the assessment, (b) if you are not a member of the umpire team at an event where an assessor is present, this assessor may be able to organize an opportunity for you to umpire, but that is not always possible, especially not at grade 1 and AC events.
