The ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards Dinner and Presentation is taking place at Wanha Satama, an historic warehouse in the heart of Helsinki. World renowned sailor, television commentator and author Gary JOBSON (USA) will host the event dedicated to a year in sailing and the outstanding achievements of the six female and five male sailors nominated for the sailing world’s most prestigious Awards of recognition.
ISAF President Göran PETERSSON (SWE) commented, 'Each year the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards ceremony is one of the highlights of the sailing calendar. ISAF has always sought to exploit the possibilities of the internet in communicating with its worldwide base of sailors through our website www.sailing.org. Thanks to the onward march of technology, sailors and sailing fans across the globe will now also be able to enjoy the highlights from one of the sport’s most prestigious nights.'
Each winner will be presented with the coveted ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award Trophy and a Rolex timepiece at a ceremony that will honour the achievements of all of the nominees. This gala occasion will be attended by the nominees and eminent guests from the sailing world, and the renowned sailor, yachting journalist and Rolex Ambassador Gary JOBSON will act as Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
