Connect To Sailing aims to share best practise developed by all participating groups, using a combination of workshops, written manuals, website and mentoring. The Connect To Sailing website will be a database of best practice from around the globe, enabling the sharing of knowledge.
There are many fantastic 'development' programmes already out there, excellent examples of best practice, which can be picked up in entirety or revised for an individual nation. There is no need to reinvent the wheel.
The sharing of ‘Best Practices’ is about inspiring others to participate, helping to solve problems, generosity of spirit, shared goals, a passion for the sport and a desire to participate whatever the level. To achieve this ISAF needs your help.
This service will provide details of programmes that have already proved successful and put you in contact with those that have delivered them. You can take the blueprint and adapt it to suit your Federation, Club or Class. Whatever the size of your organization ISAF's vision is that you will have access to information that you can adapt and be able to interpret and implement.
ISAF hopes that by seeing the blueprints, reading about the problems and successes of others and understanding our vision that you will be enthused to start a programme of your own. All the information you require at the base level will be provided through the generosity of others.
Connect To Sailing invites all Member National Authorities, Classes, Clubs, Associations and anyone who has been running a sailing programme designed to increase youth sailing at grass roots participation on a local or national scale to contact us and share with us your ideas. What have been your successes? What have been your failures? We would be very grateful for your input. Our hope is that the Connect To Sailing project will eventually become self perpetuating and that in time we will see in all nations projects, programmes and ideas encouraging the youth of our world to take up our sport for life.
