Due to high pressure in the middle of the Netherlands races in the J/22 World Championship in Medemblik were postponed yesterday leaving the Dutch on top with Tjarco TIMMERMANS’s team well clear at the front.
Unlike yesterday, on Wednesday great conditions greeted the sailors with winds ranging from 5-20 knots.
Nick BOL (NED) and his team Catolotolo sailed a very good series with results of 1,4,1 for the day moving him into second place overall.
John DEN ENGELSMAN (NED) with his team Linke Loetje also had an impressive day with finishes of 5,5,6 placing them third overall.
However neither of the teams got much closer to overall leader Team Magic Marine skippered by TIMMERMANS. After an excellent opening to the Worlds where they scored two bullets and a second, they followed with a third, another bullet and a fifth on Wednesday to leave themselves twelve points clear at the top.
Racing is set to continue today with Saturday as a reserve day.
